About us

The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) was established in New Zealand in 1989 and is one of four branches of this club worldwide. There are also VJMC branches in Australia, North America, and the UK.

VJMC NZ has been led by Ross and Judy Charlton since its launch, and the club currently has 70 members from all over the country. There is an annual club rally in March/April, which has been held in a variety of great locations, such as Nelson, New Plymouth, and Hanmer Springs.

Although the club's primary purpose is to promote the enjoyment of vintage Japanese motorcycles, motorbike enthusiasts with younger Japanese bikes are more than welcome to join the club and get involved.

The club keeps in contact with members via bi-monthly newsletters, and encourages members to share experiences and stories with each other.
